Contacts v. Glasses

This morning, I was running late, so I saved myself some time and I just wore my glasses. Now, not everyone knows I wear contacts, since it's not exactly something you tell someone just out of the blue. So anyway, I had to explain to maybe a dozen people that I wear contacts most days. This lead a few of my fellow contact-wearing students to want to coordinate a special glasses-wearing day, where all of the secret contact wearers in school would wear their glasses.

Then I began to consider which was better, wearing glasses or wearing contacts (even though I should be considering the arguments of the anti-federalists against the federalists).

Glasses:
+Easy to put on
+Make you look studious
+Comfortable
-Break or crack easily
-Target of hateful comments
-Fall off on a rollercoaster

Contacts:
+Nearly Invisible
+Smaller storage
+Can be worn with sunglasses
-Require lots of care
-Can be torn by a fingernail
-Can irritate the eye

Any pros or cons you'd like to add? I'd love to hear 'em.

Paper Email.

That's a cool title. NOT. It would be a cool title if inside one of the ideas inside wasn't, "Say what you had for lunch."
What a hypocrite.
Maybe no one reads my blog, but the 'ideas' in the book seem totally out of nowhere. It's like Margaret Mason thought of this great title for a book, but then ran out of things to say.

In a concluding thought, I'd like this for a Christmas present:

Current Music Obsession.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlW5c4tInvY
I listen to this guy (or this song) approx. 5 times daily.

Props to my sister for introducing us.
:)

Got any current music obsessions of your own? I'd love to hear about them.

Life is Like an Amusement Park

Go ride all the rides, and the food's overpriced.

In fact, today, for me, was basically life in a day.
First, I got up and I worked out
Which I would consider comparable to school because you just work and work and you're pushed to the limit, but it's all because you're looking out for yourself in the future.

Then, I went to Chinese School, which I suppose could be compared to just... school, but that wouldn't be a metaphor now would it?
I basically saw it as... a boring place I didn't want to be/work, and Chinese is like money and I'm saving up for when I retire, or rather, graduate.

And then I moved on to the amusement park. Pretty much like an old person travelling the world.

Does this make any sense at all? It totes makes sense to me... but I'm having difficulty putting my thoughts into coherent sentences.

The Depression.

Apparently we're in one right now, and I find it difficult to believe that we're rebounding.

Unemployment is still down, and there are still greedy corporations that'll do anything to save that one cent, even if that means outsourcing and exploiting.

Music is Passion

Yoga does nothing for me. It doesn't help me relax, and it doesn't make me feel any better than I did before the session.

What does help me relax is playing piano. Composers make their thoughts clear yet there is still some room for artistic liberty or personal interpretation. Nowadays, I'm so passionate about playing piano... Not that I play every day, it's just that I know exactly when to get louder and stronger and when to get softer and lighter.

Besides that, there's the chords. Playing chords is so fulfilling, your fingers know exactly where to be and what to do. On top of that, you have to focus on which note of the chord needs to be emphasized and which need are just accompanying the melody.

Finally, the personal satisfaction of nailing a piece and capturing all of the emotions mixed in, is my personal favorite part of playing piano.

Have you ever played an instrument? If so, what are/were your thoughts on it, in general?
I'd love to know about your thoughts on music.

Labor Day.

Here in the States, Labor Day is... the first Monday of September...? Maybe?
Anyway, apparently, the rest of the world has May Day... on the first of MAY.

I love days off from school, but a day off from school on the first of May would be just as good if not a better option.

Other things that the World does and we don't?
+ Celsius degrees
+ A4 Paper
+ International System of Units

Have something add?
I'd love to hear it.
